ADHD symposium in Nairobi, Kenya
On 22nd August 2019, an ADHD symposium took place in Nairobi, Kenya, which was jointly organized by the World Federation of ADHD with the Kenya Pediatric Association and Janssen-Kenya.
Over 135 delegates attended the symposium, with a balanced mix of pediatricians, psychiatrists and psychologists. The objective of this symposium was to build capacity, advance knowledge and share best practice in ADHD management, especially in resource poor setting. The content of the symposium was rich, relevant and landed very well with the audience.
Professor Jan Buitelaar from Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, was invited to complete the local faculty to facilitate at the ADHD Symposium to address issues pertaining to a mental disease that is common but unfortunately not well understood.
